Because of you Jo takes her next step.

Early this year Jo had a big drop in her vision after a major fall. It left her scared that she wouldn’t be able to manage on her own and that she could lose her independence.

Thanks to your generosity, Jo has relearnt to get around confidently. Recently she walked to her local shops on her own for the first time since losing more of her sight. For Jo, it was a huge achievement and she was so proud:

“Using my support cane I strolled to the shops. I’d never had the confidence, since my fall, but I did it…and I’ll do it tomorrow too. I felt great.”

Jo continues to grow in confidence and independence with the help of a Blind Foundation specialist.

She continues to walk greater distances whenever she can. Next on her list of challenges is to learn to use an escalator again.

As Jo’s sight continues to worsen, she also can’t do things like read large print books anymore. But, being able to borrow talking books from the Blind Foundation library has been a great joy for this dedicated reader.

Your support means that Jo will always have the support she needs to adapt and live  a full life, regardless of her changing needs.

“I want to say a very big thank you for not just helping me, but everyone else that needs help from the Blind Foundation. You are wonderful.”
