Your one stop shop

The Blind Foundation shop is your place to buy a range of products online.  You can browse the full range of items using the navigation tabs to the left, with categories helping you find the type of product you need.

As you view an item, you’ll see two prices listed. Most items are subsidised for people who are registered with the Blind Foundation, and that shows as the ‘client price’. All prices on the site are displayed inclusive of GST.  We only accept credit card payment for on line orders.

Once you go to Check Out a delivery charge will be added to your order.

To the best of our ability, the Blind Foundation team keeps the website products updated to reflect availability, correct specifications and images.

If the product you want is not available, you will be notified and given other available options. If this happens, you will be given the option to have the delivery at a later date or to cancel your order.

Each Blind Foundation office around the country has a display of available equipment, excluding canes, sunglasses and magnifiers.  You are welcome to visit any office during opening hours and look at the equipment, and place an order.  For information on your closest office, and their opening hours, please contact us 0800 24 33 33

FAQs

Do I need to register on the site to place an order?

No, but if you are a registered client of the Blind Foundation, please ensure your name is entered on the order form.  This will ensure you receive the client price.

Is there a limit to what I can order?

No, you can order as many items as you like.

Which credit cards do you accept?

We accept Visa and MasterCard.

When will my order arrive?

Please allow up to five business days for your order to arrive.  All orders are sent via Post Haste couriers. Business days exclude weekends and holidays.

What countries do you ship to?

We ship only within New Zealand to street and rural addresses.  We cannot ship to  P O Boxes, or Private Bags.

What methods can I choose for shipping?

All orders are shipped via Post Haste Couriers

Can I order by phone?

Yes. To order by phone, please call 0800 243 333. This number is toll-free within New Zealand. Orders received after normal business hours will be processed the next business day.

How do I pay for my order?

If you are ordering online, we only accept credit card payments.  For transactions over the phone you can also pay by cheque, or Bank transfer. For bank transfer details please call 0800 24 33 33.

Am I eligible for funding for my white cane or tip?

The Blind Foundation manages the national funding and supply of white mobility canes for eligible blind and low vision people, on behalf of the Ministry of Health.

Return and Exchange Policies

  • There is a 14 day right of return policy for goods in “as new” condition, including packaging and manuals.
  • For health and safety reasons, talking personal thermometers, liquid level indicators and autodrops cannot be returned.

What cane should I buy?

We recommend you seek advice before purchasing a new cane from the Blind Foundation.  To use a cane for safe independent travel a specialised training programme is recommended.  This covers all aspects of travel techniques as well as using the cane. What magnifier should I buy?

Our magnification options come in a range of strengths and types that may suit your needs, whether you are at home, in the office or out and about.    We highly recommend you have a low vision assessment before deciding on a magnifier.  Please contact us on 0800 24 33 33 to arrange for an assessment.

Which sunglasses should I buy?

We have a range of  sunglasses which suit different eye conditions and environmental conditions.  These come in fit over and non-fit over styles.  An assessment to determine the best pair for you is recommended.  Please contact us on 0800 24 33 33 to arrange for an assessment.
