Organise a Blind Week street collection

The Blind Week street collection is on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th October 2017 and we are looking for volunteers to coordinate collections in their area. If you are organised, friendly and approachable, then we need you!

What’s involved in organising a collection?

  1. Decide where you would like to hold a collection – then you can leave the paperwork to us. We’ll arrange all the permissions you need from your local council and shop owners.
  2. Help recruit a team of awesome collectors. We will contact previous collectors in your area, but you could also ask friends, family, Lions groups, or your local school. You’ll find people are willing to give a few hours to help support life-changing guide dogs!
  3. Roster your volunteers. We provide you with the details of people who have volunteered to collect in your area; you draw up a roster of who is collecting where and when.
  4. Motivate your volunteers. We provide you with t-shirts, buckets, posters and stickers –  you just need to bring a positive attitude and a few encouraging words to keep your volunteers smiling on the day!

Unable to coordinate this year?

You can still make a huge difference by collecting for a couple of hours or by making a donation.
