A beautiful day out at Somes Island including a guided tour of the history of the island by Wellington Museum staff.

We will meet Wellington Museum or the Ferry Terminal/Queens Wharf

Plan for the day:
11am – If you would like to attend a talk on the history of the Island, please meet outside Wellington Museum.
11.30am – Walk down to the Ferry Terminal
11.45am – Meet everyone else at the Ferry Terminal
12pm – Ferry departs for Somes Island
12.20pm – 3.25pm Tour of Somes Island and Picnic lunch
3.45pm: Arrive back at Queens Wharf

Cost:
If you are a Gold Card Member, you will need to pay for a one-way ticket $12 (the 3.25pm Ferry is outside of Gold Card hours).

If you are not a Gold Card Member the Blind Foundation will subsidize the Ferry cost by $12.

Please bring:
Comfortable walking shoes, water bottle, waterproof coat, polyprop jersey, hat, sunscreen, money for the ferry packed lunch and snacks.

Please note this trip is weather permitting.
