Les Talens Lyriques

Sunday, 10 April 2016, 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Audio description is now a firmly established part of Chamber Music New Zealand’s ‘repertoire’ and this year will be the first time that this service is offered to a Christchurch audience.

Featuring internationally acclaimed French ensemble Les Talens Lyriques, the concert is on Sunday 10 April, 5pm at the Charles Luney Auditorium, St Margaret’s College, with a meet-and-greet touch tour on stage at 3.30pm.

Christophe Rousset (Ensemble Director) is the outstanding harpsichordist of his generation, and describes his instrument as a time machine – “it really takes you to another era”. He brings three leading members of the group with him, each of whom is a soloist in their own right, for their first visit to New Zealand as Les Talens Lyriques. With a varied programme of suites, sonatas and character pieces, Rousset and the brilliant musicians of Les Talens Lyriques will transport you back to Versailles – to the dazzlingly elegant and indulgent court of the Sun King.

Tickets $59, companion free (if required) and concession rates for those over 65 and students.

For tickets and to book your headsets, phone Chamber Music New Zealand on 0800 266 2378.
