Annual General Meeting

This year’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 11 November 2017 at 11:00am at the Blind Foundation Hamilton Office, 15 Liverpool Street, Hamilton.

The business of the meeting is to:

  • Accept the minutes of the 2016 AGM;
  • Announce the results of the election of Directors;
  • Approve the appointment of the Auditor; and
  • Consider the Annual Report for the year ended 30 June 2017.

If you would like to receive a copy of the minutes of the 2016 Annual General Meeting in your preferred format, please phone the Contact Centre on 0800 24 33 33, alternatively, you can listen to these on the Telephone Information Service at option 3,1,4,3.

Member participation

There will be opportunities to ask questions or comment on the RNZFB’s activities and the Board’s direction. Members who do not wish to travel to Hamilton for the AGM may participate in either of two ways:

  • If there is enough interest, we hope to organise meetings at the Blind Foundation’s offices in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington that will link to the AGM via telephone.
  • Alternatively, you may participate by telephone. These ‘spaces’ are limited so you need to book in advance.

Also, if you intend to ask a question at the meeting that could be more fully answered with some background research, please let Jane know before 27 October 2017.

2017 Special Meeting of Members

This year, there will also be a Special Meeting of Members to consider changes to the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind Constitution.  The meeting will be held on Saturday 11 November 2017 at 10:00am at the Blind Foundation Hamilton Office, 15 Liverpool Street, Hamilton.

The business of the meeting is to consider the following resolution:

That the Constitution of the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind Incorporated, as amended, be adopted to take effect after the 2017 RNZFB Annual General Meeting has concluded.

Any member present at this meeting in person or by proxy is entitled to vote at the meeting provided that he or she has not already voted in the postal ballot.  The totals of all votes cast for and against the resolution will be announced at the meeting.

There will be opportunities to ask questions or comment on the resolution above.  Members who do not wish to travel to Hamilton for the Special Meeting of Members (SMM) may participate in either of two ways:

  • If there is enough interest, we hope to organise meetings at Blind Foundation offices in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin that will link to the SMM via telephone.
  • Alternatively, you may participate by telephone.  You will need to book in advance to participate by telephone.  Instructions for dialling into the meeting will be notified in advance of the meeting.
