About Blind Week

Blind Week is the time of year when we celebrate New Zealanders who are blind or have low vision living their lives without limits. It’s an opportunity for people to share their stories, and inspire others to do the same.

Today at least three more New Zealanders will be told they’re losing their sight. The aim of Blind Foundation is to provide practical and emotional support to these people, enabling them to face their future with confidence.

With your help this Blind Week, we can reach more people in your community who are blind or have low vision.

Get involved in Blind Week

The Blind Week street collection is on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th October. We are looking for volunteers who can spend a couple of hours collecting money to help people who are blind or have low vision to enjoy all the good things in life. Find out how to become a Blind Week street collector.

We also need organised, friendly, approachable volunteers to coordinate street collections in their local area. Find out what is involve in organising a collection.

If you are unable to collect, you can still make a big difference by making a donation. Losing your sight can turn your life upside down and it’s thanks to the caring support of people like you that we can help Kiwis adapt to life without sight.
