A person is seated at a kitchen counter, reading a book with the aid of a magnifier with flashlight. The kitchen is well-equipped with various appliances, and the counter is spacious and clean.

Blind Low Vision NZ’s Individual Advocacy programme gave Wayne the skills and tools needed to tackle an advocacy issue.

Have you heard of our Individual Advocacy Service? This vital service, made possible by your generous support, empowers people who are blind, deafblind or low vision to achieve their goals through advocacy.

Our Policy and Advocacy Team connects with people who are blind, deafblind or low vision to build their individual strengths and increase self-confidence and advocacy skills, so they can find solutions to specific problems.

Wayne, who lost vision in his right eye through an accident, received support and advice. “I would not be where I am now without this service. Thank you to everyone for doing what you do.”
